About Change Ahead

Change Ahead was founded in 2019, on the belief that everyone deserves a safe, secure place to call home and access to support products and services online.

Our team of dedicated professionals works tirelessly to provide practical and emotional support to those in need, from emergency accommodation to long-term housing solutions. With a focus on using tech for good and empowering our clients to take control of their lives, we aim to break the cycle of homelessness for good.

Our founders

Mohsin

Mohsin is co-founder and chief executive officer of social enterprise Change Ahead, following more than three decades of experience in property, finance, healthcare, marketing, and advertising.

After subscribing to Social Enterprise UK in 2018, Mohsin oversaw Change Ahead becoming part of the Virgin Start-Up program.

Drawing on his own experiences with homelessness, Mohsin co-founded Change Ahead to support vulnerable individuals find support services, either online or within their local communities. With a passion for technology, Mohsin worked with Xerini to help build machine learning capabilities to find useful resources from other charities and support groups.

In 2020, he became a trained mental health volunteer for SHOUT and COVID-19 Telephone Support for NHS and started running open clinics for those in need.

Mohsin’s focus is on driving wellness across communities, reducing the burden on traditional zineffective systems.

Sheena

Sheena is co-founder and chief financial officer of social enterprise Change Ahead. Following a 15-year career in finance, working with General Electric, Sheena formed a volunteer network and corporate sponsors, creating a tenancy app with Softwire, matching socially conscious landlords to tenants on housing benefits.

Sheena leads the organisation’s Youth Executive Board, created to bring young diverse perspectives into the organisation and to support their personal development with early work experience. She also leads successful project groups at the University of Westminster, presenting Change Ahead as a live case study.

Sheena is proud to be supporting communities and empowering people to lead independent lives with the support from Change Ahead.

Bhavin Shah

Bhavin is an experienced senior executive with board proficiency in the private and charity sectors. He combines banking, risk, and transformation experience with a strong understanding of stakeholder engagement and finance. While passionate about helping reduce the homelessness crisis, Bhavin is a NED of Sovereign Network Group, and a governor at The Beacon School.

Alex Luketa

Alex Luketa, CTO and Co-Founder of Xerini Limited, leverages experience from top financial institutions to address technological challenges and enhance business productivity. Under his leadership, Xerini develops bespoke AI applications on the Xefr platform, fostering key partnerships and driving advancements in data utilisation and system integration.

Philippa Hallam

Philippa transitioned from being a commercial property lawyer to a career in the wellness industry, driven by a passion for helping others thrive. As a trustee for Change Ahead, she combines her legal expertise and wellness skills to support the charity’s mission and initiatives effectively.

A Law student at the University of Nottingham and Change Ahead Charity Youth Board member, leverages his expertise to write grant applications, offering valuable insights and advice. Passionate about humanitarian projects, Nima is dedicated to making a significant impact through his academic and volunteer endeavours.

An International History & Politics student at the University of Leeds and Youth Executive Board member at Change Ahead, researches and liaises with external stakeholders to support strategic goals. Passionate about human rights and current affairs, Maya aims to build on past experiences for positive future change.

As a first-class honours graduate in Business Management and Economics from the University of Westminster, Rishana joined Change Ahead as a Project Consultant, focusing on grant writing. Deeply passionate about Change Ahead’s mission, Rishana is dedicated to fostering positive change.

A recent International Business graduate from the University of Westminster, Layan leverages her expertise to foster partnerships and sponsorships for the charity. Committed to humanitarian causes, she strives to create a meaningful impact in the community through her volunteer efforts.

Samuel Pingerna

A Finance and Business Management student at the University of Westminster and new Change Ahead Charity Youth Board member, aims to use his research and analytical skills to support housing projects addressing homelessness. Samuel previously contributed to a university-led knowledge exchange project utilising student-led coaching for community impact.

Sneha Gupta

A second-year Accounting and Business Management student at the University of Westminster, has volunteered in sustainable agriculture and water projects in Africa and taught Excel and personal finance to homeless women in London. Sneha supports Change Ahead’s mission to prevent homelessness through outreach and organising wellness classes.
